And BYOC. Bring Your Own Cigarettes for 24 hours. There is a gas station, down the street, if you run out.
Other than that, the complex has several food options, salads, sandwiches, quite a lot of food to choose from, Starbucks Coffee, muffins, cookies, fresh fudge and sweets, breakfast sandwiches, Pizza all night long delivered to your room. Frequently asked question :
If I am in a bathing suit for 9 hours where do I put my money/credit card/phone?
Steamworks has graciously donated these cool blue waterproof satchels with a string – to be worn around the neck, around the waist, around the arm – where ever! How cool is that?!
FYI – this complex is HUGE and you may find yourself leaving the pool area, walking around to get a bite to eat, drink, maybe go to the arcade, or maybe go to your room for a swim suit change!
Consider bringing slip on sandals or flip flops perhaps. You might also take a tank top or T shirt to the pool. But you are welcome to walk around the entire building in your swimsuit if you want to.
There will be bars EVERYWHERE! And drinking is allowed at the pool!
The waterpark uses clear inter tubes for insurance reasons.
ARE NOT ALLOWED
IN THE WATER.
You can have inflatable toys near your chairs or tables, to decorate your area.
But the ARE NOT allowed in the water.
Lifeguards must be able to
see the water at all times.
Fresh off the success of their second Out in the Park, the boys of Best Gay Cities are excited to bring the very first 24-hour, private LGBT indoor waterpark dance party to the Midwest. On Nov. 15, 2014, Derrick Sorles and Michael Snell are taking over the Key Lime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort in Gurnee Illinois for Heatwave, an over-the-top all-night slumber party benefiting the Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus.
“We have always wanted to do a really unique party like this!” they told ChicagoPride.com. “Something very different than our Six Flags Out in the Park, something that really has never been done before — to take an amazing entertainment venue and make it a private LGBT party, just for us.”
“I think the event is unique and the price is right,” Snell said. “You get a party AND a room for about $100 per person. You check in, put on a bathing suit and enjoy yourself for 24 hours without leaving!”
Their Facebook event page asks partygoers to envision a private LGBT paradise, 86 degrees and humid, featuring 2,000 plus adults in swimsuits and underwear, dancing, drinking, riding waterslides and partying through the night.
The event begins with check-in from 3 to 6 p.m., featuring a welcome DJ and champagne while guests get settled into their rooms. Three subsequent three-hour DJ sets will accompany a wild, indoor waterpark dance party, featuring local entertainment and dancers, that rages until 3 a.m.
“There will be a fashion show with sexy models from Ramsey J Prince and J Prince Studios and some of the boys and girls from Scarlet’s posse will be on hand, as well as some dancers from CREAM,” Sorles said. “So expect a lot of skin, a lot of music and fun and a lot water!”

And our beneficiary this year
will be the Chicago Gay Mens Chorus!
The Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus (CGMC) has been an integral part of Chicago’s cultural and gay communities since 1983. For the last two decades, they have entertained audiences across the continent with innovative musical programming exploring everything from love to politics to the sometimes fabulous, sometimes challenging world of being gay—often all at the same time.
While they raise funds from the community throughout the year with events like “Lipstick and Lyrics,” “The Big Package Auction” and “The Disco Ball,” it is no exaggeration to say that the generosity of donors is what allows CGMC to play its vital role in the community.
With more than 150 singing members backed by a small army of volunteers, the CGMC family covers a diverse cross-section of the Chicago metropolitan area.
How lucky are we to have BOTH of these hot men as our hosts for Heatwave 2014?!

Trannika Rex will also be on hand! Infamous drag queen/MC, Trannika has been a rising star in Chicago, frequently seen at Scarlet and Berlin nightclubs.
“The more I host, the more offensive I become,” he said with a bit of sass. “Trannika’s a self-absorbed, alcoholic bigot, but she’s full of love. I studied improv at Second City and did theater for 11 years, so a big part of the show is spontaneous audience interaction through games and live tweeting. It’s organized chaos. You might gasp first, but you’re always going to end up laughing.”
Best part of your job: “Getting drunk on stage with my best friends.”
Worst part of your job: “Having to wake up the next day.”
